Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, installing, or using SwiftCert ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the app.

What SwiftCert is

SwiftCert is a record-keeping and document-generation tool for gas engineers and heating/plumbing businesses in the UK. It helps you create, store, and share certificates, quotes, invoices, and related business records. See our Disclaimer for important limits on what the app does and doesn't do — it does not verify your Gas Safe registration or check regulatory compliance on your behalf.

Who this app is for

SwiftCert is intended for use by qualified, Gas Safe registered engineers and the businesses that employ them, in the course of their professional work. It is not a consumer product and is not intended for use by the general public to self-certify gas safety work.

Your data and local storage

SwiftCert stores your business, customer, and certificate data locally on your device — see our Privacy Policy for details. You are responsible for backing up your own data (via the app's backup feature) if you want to protect against data loss from a lost, damaged, or replaced device.

SwiftCert cannot recover your records for you if a device is lost without a backup.

Credits and purchases

Some features (exporting certain certificate types as PDFs) require credits, which are either granted free periodically or purchased as consumable in-app purchase packs. See our Refund Policy for how refunds work. Purchases are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play, subject to their respective terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the app to generate certificates or documents you're not legally qualified or entitled to issue;
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, tamper with, or circumvent the app's credit or purchase systems;
  • Use the app in any way that violates applicable law, including UK gas safety regulations.

Intellectual property

The app itself (its design, code, and branding) is the property of SwiftCert. Certificates, quotes, invoices, and other documents you generate using your own entered data belong to you and your business — SwiftCert claims no ownership over the content you create with the app.

No warranty

SwiftCert is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted, error-free operation. See our Disclaimer for the specific limits that apply to gas-safety documentation generated using the app.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SwiftCert is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to lost data, lost business, or regulatory penalties. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may update or discontinue features of the app over time; where reasonably possible, we'll aim to give notice of material changes that affect your use of previously purchased credits.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised terms. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made.
