The short version
SwiftCert is built to work fully offline. Everything you enter — customer details, addresses, appliance records, photos, signatures, and certificates — is stored on your own device and stays there unless you choose to export a backup yourself.
SwiftCert does not sell user data, does not use advertising SDKs, and does not use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs at the date shown above.
What data the app stores, and where
All job, customer, certificate, quote, invoice, expense, and mileage records are stored in a local database on your device. Appliance and job photos are stored as files in your device's own storage. Uninstalling the app removes this data from your device unless you've exported a backup beforehand.
The app may also store business profile details you enter, such as engineer name, business name, Gas Safe registration number, logo, signature, bank details for invoices, VAT settings, and mileage or expense records.
Camera and photos
SwiftCert requests camera access only to let you attach photos of appliances to your records for your own reference. These photos are stored on your device and are not included in the PDF certificates you generate — they're for your own record-keeping only.
In-app purchases
Credit packs are purchased through Apple's App Store or Google Play's billing systems. SwiftCert does not receive or store your card details at any point. The relevant app store handles payment, purchase confirmation, and any payment-related account information.
To add purchased credits and prevent duplicate credit grants, purchase confirmation details may be handled by the app stores and by a purchase-processing service used only for in-app purchase management. This information is used for purchase validation and credit balance recovery, not for advertising.
Backup and restore
If you choose to back up your data, SwiftCert creates a protected backup file and shows you a recovery code. SwiftCert does not keep a copy of this code or the backup file — both are entirely in your control.
If you lose the recovery code, that specific backup file becomes permanently unreadable. There is no way for us to reset or recover it.
Sharing and exports
When you export a certificate, quote, invoice, tax summary, or backup, you choose where to send or save it using your device's sharing options. For example, you may choose email, WhatsApp, AirDrop, printing, file storage, or your own cloud drive. Once you share or save an exported file outside SwiftCert, that destination is controlled by you and by the service you selected.
Analytics and crash reporting
As of this policy's last update, SwiftCert does not use any analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. If that changes in a future version, this policy will be updated to name the specific service and what it collects before that version is released.
Children's privacy
SwiftCert is a professional tool for Gas Safe registered engineers and tradespeople and is not directed at, marketed to, or intended for use by children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Retention and deletion
SwiftCert does not create an online account for you. Your app records stay on your device until you delete them in the app, export them, or uninstall the app. Backup files remain wherever you choose to store them until you delete those files yourself.
Because SwiftCert does not keep a copy of your local records, we cannot remotely delete or recover data stored only on your device. If you contact us about privacy, we can answer questions and delete any support email you have sent us, subject to any legal or security reason we may need to keep it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version adds a new third-party service — we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, note it in the app itself.
