Works offline, data stays on your phone

Every part of SwiftCert — creating certificates, quotes, and invoices, logging expenses and mileage, generating PDFs — works with no internet connection at all. Basements, plant rooms, rural properties, thick-walled older buildings: poor signal is a daily reality for gas engineers, and nothing about finishing the paperwork should depend on a signal bar.

All your records are kept on your own phone, not on a company server. A certificate, quote, or invoice can be started, filled in, and exported to a finished PDF from start to finish in airplane mode, and every entry saves as you type — so nothing is lost if the app is interrupted mid-job. The only moments connectivity matters at all are the subscription check (see below) and sharing a finished PDF by email or WhatsApp — occasional touchpoints, never something the core workflow waits on.

Backup & restore

A way to save a complete, protected copy of everything in the app — certificates, clients, jobs, quotes, invoices, expenses, mileage, settings — to a single file, and bring it all back later on the same phone or a new one. Protected by a one-time recovery code only you ever see.

Because your records live on your own phone rather than a company server, there's no account to log into and pull the data back down automatically if the phone is lost, damaged, or replaced. Backup is how you protect years of certificates and client history against that — and it's how you move everything to a new phone.

Taking a backup:

  • Settings → Backup & Restore → Export Backup builds one protected file containing everything.
  • A recovery code is shown once — the only key that can ever unlock that backup file. There's no "forgot my code" reset, so losing it makes that backup permanently unreadable.
  • From the same screen, email the backup to yourself (recommended) or share the file to Drive, Files, WhatsApp, AirDrop, or anywhere else.

Restoring a backup:

  • On a new phone, choose "Restore from Backup" during first-time setup instead of a fresh profile. On the same phone, use Settings → Backup & Restore → Restore Backup.
  • Pick the backup file, enter its recovery code, and everything in it replaces what's currently on the device.

A few things worth knowing before you rely on this: save the recovery code somewhere outside the phone itself — the app's own on-device list of past codes doesn't survive losing the phone, which is exactly why "Email Backup to Myself" sends the code and file together. Photos attached to certificates and defects are not included in a backup — certificate data, client records, invoices, and quotes all restore fully, but photos stay as files on the device they were taken on. And restoring replaces what's currently on the device — it's for a fresh phone or a genuine start-over, not for merging two devices' separate records together.

Your subscription doesn't need backing up — it's tied to your Apple/Google account, not to a backup file, and comes back on its own (or via Restore Purchases) on any device signed into that account. See Subscriptions & Free Trial below.

Subscriptions & free trial

SwiftCert is free to fully use for 30 days from install, no card required. After that, exporting certificate and invoice PDFs requires one of three subscription plans — but a long list of features are never gated at all, on any plan.

  • The 30-day free trial gives full access with no card needed, with a gentle reminder as it nears its end.
  • After the trial, certificate/invoice PDF export requires an active subscription. Nothing already entered is ever deleted or hidden — subscribing simply unlocks export again immediately.
  • Three plans, all auto-renewing, no monthly option — every plan is a quarter or longer: 3-month (£14.99), 6-month (£24.99), and Annual (£39.99, the lowest per-month cost).
  • Always free, on every plan, no subscription required at all: Quotes and Invoices (with full payment tracking), Expenses, Mileage, and Tax Summary — the entire business and admin side of the app is never gated.
  • Switching phones: a subscription is tied to your Apple/Google account, not the device or a data backup — "Restore Purchases" (in Settings, or on the subscribe screen) picks it back up automatically on a new phone signed into the same account.
  • Cancelling: anytime, from your phone's own subscription settings or a direct link in the app — access continues until the current paid period ends, then simply doesn't renew.
